skriblio

the banana, on mac.

it's a small one that sits at the edge of your screen. click write and a cream page opens, and save puts it in the same vault as the phone. it isn't a second journal.

it's included in both plans, and it needs the phone app.

how it pairs

  1. one

    install

open the download. the banana appears in the menu bar and sits in a corner of the screen. drag it anywhere.

  2. two

    a code on the phone

in the app go to you, then pair a computer, then make a code. it's six characters and it's good for ten minutes.

  3. three

    type it once

the computer keeps a key, the phone keeps a list of computers you can remove. from then on it knows if you wrote today.

a day with it

on the screen

this is a drawing for now. the real screenshot goes here when the signed build ships.

needs

  • macos12 or later
  • chipapple silicon, this first build
  • sizeabout 7 mb
  • signingit isn't signed yet, so chrome will say the download is damaged when it isn't. in terminal run xattr -c ~/Downloads/skriblio.dmg and open it again

it won't

  • it makes no sound, never bounces, and shows no badge counts.
  • never moves across the screen on its own.
  • it never lists the vault, and a page you type there saves with the rest.

this page is here early so the link in the app has somewhere to point. the download switches on the day the build is signed. there's also a windows version.
