These terms are between you and STEADY LABS (PTY) LTD, registration 2026/086606/07, South Africa ("we"), for the Skriblio app, its widgets, the desktop companion and the skriblio.com pages. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not, do not use the app.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older and able to enter a contract. One account per person.
What Skriblio is
A journal with a companion character. You write or photograph pages; we keep them, transcribe photographs so you can search them, and the banana keeps you company. If you choose, and only if your friend also agrees, the banana sends your friend a short notice on WhatsApp when you have not written for several days. The exact cadence is stated in the app and in the privacy notice and does not change without notice to you.
Skriblio is not a medical, therapeutic or mental health service and makes no health claims.
Your journal is yours
You own everything you write and photograph. You give us only the permission needed to store it, back it up, transcribe it, search it and show it back to you, and to export it when you ask. We do not read your journal except when you ask for support on a specific entry, and we never use it to train models or to advertise.
The circle and your friends
You may add people you know. You are responsible for only inviting people who would want to hear from a banana about you. Your friend decides for themselves by accepting the invite. Either of you can stop it at any time. You may not use the circle to harass anyone, and we will end accounts that do.
Subscription
Skriblio is a paid app. You get 14 days free from your first saved entry. After that, writing, searching and living with the banana need an active subscription, purchased through Apple or Google. Exporting your journal and deleting your account never need a subscription. Subscriptions renew until cancelled, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and are managed and cancelled in your Apple or Google account settings, not in the app. Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their rules. Prices are shown in the store before you buy and may change for future periods with notice.
Acceptable use
Do not use the app to store or share unlawful content, to harm others, to attempt to access another person's account or data, or to interfere with the service. We may suspend or end an account that does, after telling you unless the law forbids it.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running and your data safe, and we do what a careful small company does: encrypted storage, backups, monitoring. We do not promise uninterrupted service. Keep your own export if the journal matters to you; the app makes that easy.
Ending
You can delete your account any time from inside the app. It is immediate and complete. We can end the service with 90 days' notice, during which export stays available; if we ever must end it sooner for legal or security reasons we will tell you as early as we can.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country, including the Consumer Protection Act in South Africa.
Law
South African law applies, and disputes go to the courts of South Africa, without taking away consumer protections that apply where you live.
