These terms are between you and STEADY LABS (PTY) LTD, registration 2026/086606/07, South Africa ("we"), for the Skriblio app, its widgets, the desktop companion and the skriblio.com pages. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not, do not use the app.

Who can use it

You must be 16 or older. If you are under 18, you confirm that you are old enough to use the service where you live, and that you can accept these terms or have a parent or guardian who agrees to them. One account per person.

What Skriblio is

A journal with a companion character. You type, record or photograph pages; we keep them, type up photographs so you can search them, and the banana keeps you company.

The desktop companion updates itself: it downloads signed new versions in the background and puts them in the next time it starts. You can remove it from your computer at any time.

Skriblio is not a medical, therapeutic or mental health service and makes no health claims.

Your journal is yours

You own everything you write, record and photograph. You give us only the permission needed to store it, type it up, search it and show it back to you, and to export it when you ask. We do not read your journal except when you ask for support on a specific entry, and we never use it to train models or to advertise.

Journaling with friends

You may invite up to three people you know to journal with you, by sending them a link. A link works once and lasts seven days, and you should only send it to people you know. Your friend decides for themselves by accepting the invite, and either of you can stop at any time. The name you give yourself in the app is shown to your friend, so use your own. You may not use invites or names to harass or impersonate anyone, and we will end accounts that do. Nobody gets free time or any other reward for inviting or accepting.

Pages you send to a friend

You may send a page you have journaled to a friend you journal with, once a week for each friend. You are responsible for what you send, and you may only send what you have the right to share. A page can't be abusive, threatening, sexual, or about someone who hasn't agreed to it being shared. Your friend may keep the page, take it off their tree, report it, or block you, and once your banana has delivered it you can't take it back. We may remove a reported page and end the access of anyone who sends things that break these terms.

Subscription

Skriblio is a paid app, and there is no free version. Journaling, searching and living with the banana need an active subscription, bought through Apple or Google, by the year or by the month. New subscribers get the first two weeks free when the store offers them, and nothing is charged during those two weeks. After that the subscription starts at the price shown in the store and renews automatically for the same period until you cancel it. To avoid a charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the free two weeks or the current period end. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your Apple or Google account settings, not in the app, and deleting the app or your account does not cancel them. Exporting your journal and deleting your account never need a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their rules. Prices are shown in the store before you buy and may change for future periods with notice. On the first version of the app (1.0 on iPhone, 1.0.0 on Android), a new account first gets 14 days free from its first saved entry, without a subscription. Those days run out by themselves, and the store's free two weeks can still apply when that person subscribes.

Acceptable use

Do not use the app to store or share unlawful content, to harm others, to attempt to access another person's account or data, or to interfere with the service. We may suspend or end an account that does, after telling you unless the law forbids it.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running and your data safe, and we do what a careful small company does: encrypted storage and monitoring. We do not promise uninterrupted service. Keep your own export if the journal matters to you; the app makes that easy.

Ending

You can delete your account any time from inside the app, and it is immediate. If you no longer have the app, skriblio.com/delete-account says how to ask us by email. It does not cancel a subscription, which you cancel in your Apple or Google account settings. We can end the service with 90 days' notice, during which export stays available; if we ever must end it sooner for legal or security reasons we will tell you as early as we can.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country, including the Consumer Protection Act in South Africa.

Law

South African law applies, and disputes go to the courts of South Africa, without taking away consumer protections that apply where you live.
