apple or google handle the subscription, so you cancel it with them. on an iphone, open settings, tap your name, then 'subscriptions' and skriblio. for android, open the play store, tap your profile, then 'payments and subscriptions'. you can also open 'subscription' in the 'you' tab and tap 'manage subscription'. after you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the time you've paid for. if you cancel at least a day before the free two weeks end, you pay nothing.

refunds are handled by apple or google too. on an iphone, go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the same apple account. for android, open the play store, tap your profile, then 'payments and subscriptions', pick the order and request a refund. we can't see your card or move money, so we can't do it for you.

pick a plan in the app and the first two weeks are free, with nothing charged until they end. after that it's $49.99 a year or $9.99 a month, and apple and google show the price in your currency. the plan renews by itself until you cancel it, and if you cancel at least a day before the two weeks are up, you pay nothing.

your pages stay exactly where they are, and you can still export or delete everything without a plan. to journal again, pick a plan in the app.

open 'export data' under 'settings' in the 'you' tab. you can download a text file, a pdf laid out to print, or a zip with everything, including your photos and voice notes. it works with or without a plan, even after the free two weeks are over.

tap 'delete account' under 'settings' in the 'you' tab and confirm. it happens straight away, and your pages, photos, voice notes and banana are all deleted, so export first if you want a copy. if you no longer have the app, the delete account page says how to ask us by email.

install skriblio and sign in the same way as before, with your email, apple or google. there's no password to remember, and your pages, photos, voice notes, memory tree and banana are all there. the lock, and any pages you blurred or hid, only apply to the old phone, so set them up again on the new one.

your pages are saved on your phone first, then in a database in the eu, for as long as you have an account. to see everything skriblio keeps about you, open 'your data' under 'settings' in the 'you' tab.

it's at the top of the 'vault' tab, and it starts as a small sapling that grows as you add favourites. tap the heart next to a page in the vault, and it hangs on the tree as one card with everything on it. the round button in the corner opens it full screen. swipe to turn it, scroll down to go back through the months, and pinch to zoom in. if you take a page out of your favourites, it comes off the tree but stays in your vault.

open the page, tap 'typed up' under the photo, then 'edit', and fix the word. your phone remembers the change for the next page, and the photo stays exactly as you took it. for a voice note, tap the small pencil next to its words.

open the page in your vault, tap 'not typed up' under the voice note, then 'type it up'. an iphone does this by itself, without sending the recording anywhere. on android, voice notes stay as recordings for now, because typing them up isn't available there yet.

turn on 'face id lock' under 'settings' in the 'you' tab. your vault and your pages then ask for face id or your passcode, and home and your banana stay open. on android it's called 'fingerprint lock' and uses your fingerprint or your screen lock. it's off until you turn it on, and it only covers skriblio on that phone. while it's on, the 'from your tree' widget shows nothing from your journal.

in the 'you' tab, tap 'invite a friend' and send the message. the first time, it asks for your name, which your friends see, and you can type your friend's name too, which only you see. its link works once, for seven days, and a friend new to skriblio signs up first, then taps it again. you can have up to three friends. a friend sees your banana, your name and if you journaled today, and never a page, a photo or a time. tap a friend to turn their visits off or to remove or report them. a nod from a friend, or two friends who journaled the same day, shows on home only, and nothing buzzes your phone.

tap 'journal', then 'get a prompt' and 'for a friend', or tap a friend in the 'you' tab and then 'journal something for' them. pick who it's for and journal the page, photo, voice note or doodle. when you save it, you choose whether to send it, and you can add a short note like 'this made me think of you'. your banana delivers it the next time your friend opens skriblio, and nothing buzzes their phone. it waits on their home until they open it. you can send each friend one a week, and you can take it back until it's delivered. your friend can take it off their tree, report it from the card, or block you from your name in their friends list.

open the full list of prompts and tap 'go deeper', under 'journal school'. it has eight series, each six or seven prompts on one subject, like money or a person you keep thinking about. open one and answer the prompts in order, by typing, by voice, or by writing in your notebook and scanning the page. the last prompt is a page with a few boxes that turns it into a plan. nothing expires, so you can do one now and the next one next week.

after the first page you save each day, a small extra shows up. it's a word or a fact, with a tiny game if you want one. a scanned notebook page brings it too. nothing counts how often you play, and your banana doesn't change because of it.

turn on 'worlds' in 'appearance' in the 'you' tab, then pick 'the planet', 'the greenhouse' or 'the clouds'. tap things and they move, and pinch with two fingers to look closer. each world has five rare moments that come on some days. stay away a while and your world looks a bit off, and journaling settles it.

open 'your journal in numbers' under 'your journal' in the 'you' tab. it shows your journal entries, your days journaled, your longest stretch and a few more things, counted on your phone each time you open it. it sits behind the lock if you have one on.

it comes with both plans, and it needs the phone app. go to skriblio.com/desktop on your computer, and the download for a mac or a windows computer starts by itself. open it, then open the 'you' tab on your phone, tap 'desktop companion' and 'make a code', and type that code on the computer.

skriblio is for anyone aged 16 and over, and a 16 or 17 year old gets the same private journal as everyone else. there are no ads and no profiling, and your pages stay private unless you choose to share one. we don't build it for anyone younger than 16.
